I managed a team that prepared digital content from major Hollywood studios for online streaming services such as iTunes, Hulu, and Netflix. This included reformatting existing artwork to meet each service’s requirements, preparing audio and closed captioning, iTunes Extras and safe-for-broadcast TV edits.
These years and companies all contributed to the development of my creative skills. I learned to work under tight deadlines and with limited budgets while finding work with smaller companies across various areas of the industry. Image Resolution catered to independent filmmakers, while Mocean and Seismic are creative content agencies specializing in movie trailers and social media marketing. My generalist skill set proved useful for companies that couldn’t afford to be staffed with multiple specialists.
As a space enthusiast in my youth, this was one of my most fulfilling roles. The logo I designed for Orbital flew on rockets and satellites for two decades, until the company was acquired by Northrop. Fresh out of college, I was hired for 2D design and desktop publishing but was encouraged to expand into 3D design and web development.
I worked directly with engineers and program managers, translating their ideas into visuals—often for proposals aimed at winning contracts from NASA, the Air Force, and other government agencies. Their high standards for accuracy shaped my approach to design and visual effects ever since.
